The UFC women’s Bantamweight division is set for an exciting matchup. As reported by Super Lutas’ Leo Guimaraes, Kayla Harrison, an Olympic Judo gold medalist and the No. 3-ranked Bantamweight contender, will face off against the No. 2-ranked Ketlen Vieira at UFC 307 in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 5, 2024.
Harrison, who has been dominant at 135-pounds, had a successful UFC debut earlier this year with a win over Holly Holm. It’s interesting that she is not immediately vying for the title, which could indicate a potential match between the current champion Raquel Pennington and Julianna Pena.
Vieira, on the other hand, has won three of her last four fights, with her most recent victory against Pannie Kianzad in July 2023. With her background in Judo and jiu-jitsu, Vieira possesses the skills to potentially challenge Harrison.
This upcoming fight is expected to be a title eliminator, making the event in Salt Lake City even more thrilling.
