Arman Tsarukyan expressed satisfaction with the violent outcome of the UFC Austin co-main event.

Tsarukyan quickly defeated No. 4 ranked lightweight Benel Darish in just 64 seconds at UFC Austin on Saturday, December 2, 2023. This victory at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas solidified his spot in the UFC main event. (Watch highlights). Following this significant win, ‘Ahal Karakets’ is likely to be ranked in the top 5 of next week’s top 15 lightweight rankings.

Originally preparing for the main event showdown, Tsarukyan’s focus shifted due to the week’s extracurricular fight week activities, leading him to target the co-main event between Jalyn Turner and Bobby Green (more information available here and here Please read).

Tsarukyan was elated with the match outcome as Green was knocked out.

During the UFC Austin post-fight press conference (watch here), Tsarukyan expressed, “I was very, very happy when his head hit the canvas.”

The 27-year-old shared his perspective on the altercation with Green.

“He was talking about me, and I approached him, saying, ‘Brother, don’t talk too much about me, because where I’m from, words have consequences,’” Tsarukyan explained. “I just wanted to let him know not to talk too much about me, because if you do, we’ll have to address it personally. So he pushed me, and I responded. It’s over now. Hopefully, I won’t have to deal with him again.”

The possibility of a Green vs. Tsarukian matchup has been extinguished, and the drama seems to be resolved.

With a three-fight winning streak, Tsarukyan is edging closer to a No. 1 contender’s bout or even a title fight.
