Tom Aspinall gears up for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) event at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Nov. 16, 2024. The reigning Heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, is scheduled to defend his title against Stipe Miocic, while Aspinall, the interim titleholder, eagerly anticipates the showdown.

Jones’ domination of the division has caused a pause in the weight class since he joined in March 2023. Despite not competing since winning the title by defeating Ciryl Gane at UFC 285, Jones remains focused on his upcoming bout against Miocic, even with Aspinall holding the interim championship. Aspinall is poised to step up if the need arises at short notice.

In a discussion on his YouTube channel, Aspinall expressed his enthusiasm for the pending clash between Jones and Miocic, reaffirming his readiness to compete if called upon. He recently defended his interim title against Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304, underscoring his aspiration to become the undisputed champion.

Aspinall stressed the significance of having a solitary champion per weight class and declared his willingness to unify the belt at MSG, where he initially secured the interim title. He stands prepared for any opportunity that may present itself on Nov. 16.
