The event was initially planned for March but was postponed to June 22nd due to reported dissatisfaction with the proposed fighting quality by key figures in the Gulf, which UFC President Dana White dismissed.
The potential fight between Adesanya and Chimaev, listed on the Kingdom Arena ticket website, has sparked significant interest, despite the website being unofficial and the UFC reiterating this. The website claims to sell only official tickets and guarantee their authenticity.
Adesanya’s last fight was in September, resulting in a loss to Sean Strickland, while Chimaev last fought in October, achieving a victory over former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman in his middleweight debut, maintaining his undefeated professional record at 13-0, including six KO/TKO and five submissions.
