Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill challenges Tom Aspinall to prepare for a future fight between them.
Hill was ringside at UFC 295 and has expressed his desire to face both Alex Pereira, the winner of the 205-pound title, and Tom Aspinall, who claimed the interim heavyweight championship.
Having vacated the light heavyweight title due to injury, Hill is set to return for a title shot against Pereira. This will be a formidable challenge, but ‘Sweet Dreams’ is confident he will not only secure the victory but also cement his legacy at 205 lbs.
Not content with just one title, Hill aims to become one of the few fighters to challenge for a second title and has sent a message to Aspinall to “get ready” for a potential showdown.
“I think Tom is a stud, I think Tom is like a new prototype of what a heavyweight is.” Hill said: TNT Sports. “I definitely want to do my thing at 205 and then move up and eventually meet him too. So Tom, get ready for me someday, baby. He’s I think he’s making great moves. I think his coach is focusing on a lot of good things, the right things to give him an edge in this match.”. “A lot of them have the same philosophy that my coaches have and have hired with me and things like that.” Hill continued. “I think he’s definitely built the right way, the way a fighter should be built. It’s very exciting. I’m game. I’m always game. Someone who’s exciting and new or Every time I see them bring something fresh into the cage, I want to test myself against it.”
Alex Pereira vs. Jamahal Hill
Pereira intends to maintain an active fighting schedule, a practice he has followed throughout his career.
As for Hill, it will depend on his recovery from a torn Achilles tendon to determine when he can return to action.
