Jared Warren is resolute in his determination to defend his BKFC World Light-Heavyweight Title against Mike Richman on December 21 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Despite facing the impact of two powerful storms, Warren remains focused on his upcoming fight in the main event as BKFC returns to DAZN.

Training amid the aftermath of Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton has posed unique challenges for the Tampa native. Hurricane Helene, a Category 4 storm, caused extensive flooding in Warren’s home, resulting in the loss of all his possessions. Shortly after, Hurricane Milton, a stronger Category 5 storm, forced Warren and his fellow BKFC fighter Crystal Pittman to evacuate once again.

Reflecting on the ordeal, Warren described the evacuation process as unprecedented. “We had to escape through my window as the doors wouldn’t open due to the water pressure. Crystal and I managed to evacuate with our pets, navigating through our neighborhood that resembled a lake in my truck.”

In the aftermath, Warren, Pittman, and their pets sought temporary accommodation in various hotels before a friend offered them refuge in an RV. Despite the adversity, Warren remains steadfast in his commitment to his training regimen while overseeing the restoration of their water-damaged home.

The idea of postponing the fight never crossed Warren’s mind despite the chaos that surrounded him. “We will be prepared when the time comes to compete,” he affirmed. “No one likes to see a fighter withdraw from a match. It should only happen in cases of serious injuries or personal tragedies. My circumstances are challenging, but ultimately, it is just my home. I can still breathe, think, move, and train.”

Warren is convinced that overcoming these adversities will add significance to his victory in reclaiming the championship belt. “It will be an incredible sensation,” he said with a smile. “Participating in BKFC is the true source of my joy and motivation.”
