Joe Rogan discusses the potential impact of David Goggins’ training on Tony Ferguson ahead of UFC 296.

Ferguson, a former Navy SEAL, is set to face Paddy Pimblett on December 16 in Las Vegas, where he is currently training alongside the esteemed Goggins. A video has surfaced showing Ferguson engaging in a grueling cardio session as part of Goggins’ notorious ‘hell week’ training regimen.

Despite being on a six-fight losing streak, Ferguson has faced criticism from Daniel Cormier and Pimblett for his decision to train with Goggins. They argue that cardio may not be Ferguson’s primary concern and suggest that he should focus on honing his fighting fundamentals.

However, Rogan holds a different perspective, suggesting that Goggins’ influence could prove beneficial by pushing Ferguson to his limits.

“I’m really interested in Tony training with David Goggins,” Rogan stated in a recent episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience.” He added, “There’s a lot of conflicting opinions on whether it’s a positive or negative thing for him. When they train together, David doesn’t struggle, but Tony does. It’s evident.

“There’s definitely room for improvement in terms of endurance. Dave doesn’t tire. As they train side by side, he’ll ask, ‘Who’s going to carry the boat?’ He never gets tired because he could go on for days. There are definitely some advantages to it.”

Rogan also believes that the criticism directed at Goggins is rooted in animosity from those who dislike him and his methods.

“Weak individuals despise him,” Rogan remarked. “Insecure men, envious men, and individuals who do not understand him. Unfortunately, he is misunderstood by some people whom I respect. They haven’t delved into it deeply enough.”
