Joilton Lutterbach was set to fight Shara Magomedov on short notice at UFC Saudi Arabia this weekend but was pulled from the event due to testing positive for a banned substance. The Brazilian fighter confessed on social media that he had knowingly taken performance-enhancing drugs three months earlier, not anticipating his UFC signing.

Lutterbach joined the UFC just three weeks prior to the fight, thinking he was clean and ready to compete. Despite his belief, the prohibited substance showed up in his drug test. Drug Free Sport International, now overseeing the UFC’s anti-doping efforts, has not issued a suspension for Lutterbach yet.

Antonio Trocoli has stepped in to replace Lutterbach and will now face Magomedov in Riyadh. Lutterbach expressed remorse for his actions and acknowledged the repercussions of his choices. He intends to take a break before resuming his fighting career.
