Jon Jones is excited about his new career as an actor.
The UFC heavyweight champion recently made his small screen debut with a cameo in the Netflix MMA drama La Cage, which also stars his former opponent, Ciryl Gane, and fellow fight legend Georges St-Pierre.
Now he’s filming military-style scenes for a new project he’s very happy to be working on. By all accounts, Jon Jones is loving every minute of his time on set and ready to launch a proper acting career.
Jon Jones set for acting career?
On Wednesday, the greatest fighter in MMA history shared several pictures of himself dressed in camo gear, holding a rifle, and standing around a group of people in the same outfit.
Jones even posted a video to Instagram that showed behind-the-scenes footage of an explosive scene in which he had taken part.
The 37-year-old added a caption that suggested he sees acting as a potential career path after his days fighting and beating the best in the Octagon are over.
“Man, what a humbling experience,” Jones wrote.
“Stepping into acting feels like a whole new game, and I’m ready to put in the work, just like I always have. I’m honored, I’m motivated, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.
“This is only the beginning. The grind doesn’t stop—let’s keep building something special. The future’s looking real bright.”
Dana White guarantees Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall
Jones defended his heavyweight belt by knocking out Stipe Miocic at UFC 309 in November, but he was barely able to celebrate before he turned to his next opponent.
Tom Aspinall is next in line for the American after claiming an interim title during his spectacular run through the division, which includes quick stoppage wins over Curtis Blaydes, Sergei Pavlovich, and Alexander Volkov.
Dana White is currently trying to make what he believes could be the biggest fight in UFC history, but Jones has been clear about his preference for a clash with light heavyweight king Alex Pereira.
Still, the UFC boss is extremely confident about getting Jones vs Aspinall done.
“100 percent,” White said during a recent press conference when asked if the heavyweight unification bout is the biggest he can make in 2025. “I think it’s probably the biggest fight in heavyweight history, and it’s a massive fight in the history of the company, too. It’s a big fight.”
The reporter pointed out that Jones has been ‘on the fence’ about fighting Aspinall before White interjected to provide a promising negotiations update.
He added: “It’s weird. Let me tell you what’s weird about that. So, usually, those guys say that s behind the scenes and not publicly. Jon says that s publicly and not behind the scenes.
“Jon is a very unique individual to deal with. From day one, I’ve been confident that Jon Jones would do that fight. Even before [UFC 309] I said, ‘If he won, there’s no way Jon doesn’t do the fight’.
“Jon Jones isn’t afraid to fight anybody, and that’s a fact. The only time that anything remotely weird has ever happened with Jon Jones is the time his f***ing camp did the weird Chael Sonnen thing. ‘We can’t fight Chael Sonnen on short notice’.
“And that wasn’t him; it was his team, and he listened to his team for whatever reason. But that’s like the goofiest f***ing move in UFC history. Other than that, Jon Jones behind the scenes is not a guy who turns down fights.”
“I’ll say 100 percent [the fight will happen].”
