UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones accepted his not guilty plea to two misdemeanor charges leveled against him back in March. With his lawyer Christopher Dodd by his side, Jones attended his court hearing virtually at the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court. He was allowed to go free until his bench trial, scheduled in the next two months. However, the judge set some conditions before the trial, such as prohibiting Jones from owning firearms and imposing restrictions on his drug and alcohol consumption.

Jones, popularly known as “Bones,” has a background of sharing videos showcasing his gun arsenal and has openly addressed his struggles with substance abuse in the past. Despite seeking treatment for alcohol issues, he continues to battle with this problem. The court session was a result of an encounter Jones had with drug-testing officials earlier this year. Jones claims that the situation was blown out of proportion, and the police reports don’t accurately portray what truly occurred.

The final verdict on Jones’ case will be given when he makes his next appearance in court.
