Willy Hutchinson has secured a significant win and is now set for a major career opportunity. The WBO Championship Committee has given the green light for Hutchinson to challenge Joshua Buatsi for the interim light heavyweight championship. Both fighters have ten days to reach an agreement to avoid a bidding process.

Hutchinson’s chance at the title comes after his recent victory over Craig Richards in Saudi Arabia. Given that Anthony Yarde didn’t confirm a fight with Buatsi in time, Hutchinson was offered the chance to step in.

Buatsi, backed by BOXXER, and Hutchinson, promoted by Queensberry, will now negotiate the terms of their upcoming bout. Previous delays were caused by disagreements over promotional rights.

Following his win over Richards, Hutchinson is now poised for a showdown with Buatsi for the interim title. The light heavyweight division is currently awaiting the clash between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol for the undisputed title.

Despite past obstacles in setting up a fight between Buatsi and Yarde, Hutchinson has stepped up as a willing challenger. Both fighters are eager to stay active in the ring, and negotiations are expected to go more smoothly this time.

The boxing world is eagerly awaiting the outcome of the negotiations between Buatsi and Hutchinson as they prepare for a high-stakes battle for the interim light heavyweight title.
