Justin Watson made a historic entry into the BKFC record book by delivering a lightning-fast knockout against Cole Ferrell at BKFC 69 on Friday.
Watson’s remarkable two-second victory over Ferrell now holds the record for the fastest finish in BKFC history. Previously, Ulysses Diaz held this title with a three-second knockout against Donelei Benedetto at BKFC 14 in 2020.
Reflecting on his landmark achievement, Watson expressed, “This cements my name in history—something that can never be taken away from me.” The fighter from China Grove, NC, relished his impressive win at the sold-out Gas South Arena in Atlanta, commenting on reaching a milestone at a later stage in his career.
Entering Friday’s bout as a +607 betting underdog against the hometown favorite Ferrell, Watson surpassed expectations according to NXTbets. He remarked on this added triumph, noting, “It’s just icing on the cake.”
Watson acknowledged his underdog status, stating, “I understood I was going in as the underdog. Ferrell, with a record of 11-1 including 11 finishes in professional MMA and a first-round win in BKFC, certainly had the odds in his favor. I’ve always taken on the toughest opponents and while it doesn’t always go my way, I learn from every experience.”
Confident in his preparation, Watson asserted, “I knew he wouldn’t be able to handle what I was bringing.”
