Can Keith Richardson win back the BKFC World Bantamweight Title by 2025?
“Absolutely,” he confidently states.
Known as “The Rockstar,” Richardson lost his title in his last fight at BKFC 62 in June, where he was defeated by the up-and-coming Alberto “El Indio” Blas, ending his unbeaten run.
The loss has reignited Richardson’s drive as he prepares to take on the undefeated Michael “Papa G” Larrimore (2-0) in the headline fight of BKFC 69 on December 6 at Gas South Arena in Atlanta, GA. The event will be broadcast live on The BKFC App.
“It’s been a while since I tasted defeat,” Richardson reflects.
“I’ve always trained hard, but regaining that hunger can be challenging once you’re at the top; it’s a big hurdle when you’re a titleholder.
“However, during this training camp, I’ve felt that hunger return. I’m excited to step back into the ring and win back my championship belt,” he adds.
With a 4-1 record in the BKFC, where he has secured all but one victory by finish, the formidable fighter from Rock Hill, SC is set to end 2024 on a high note with a significant win against Larrimore.
“This time, I intend to be more patient and let the opportunities present themselves rather than forcing them. In my last fight, I was overly aggressive, throwing a big punch that missed and left me vulnerable to a counterattack,” Richardson explains. “I envision a victory in Atlanta, and I always strive for a decisive finish.”
