Former UFC two-division champion Henry Cejudo found himself in a tense situation with UFC middleweight Khamzat Chimaev outside the Summer Games venue in Paris. Chimaev, reportedly unhappy with Cejudo’s frequent trash talk on his YouTube channel, confronted him outside the entrance.
Cejudo recounted the incident to Pound 4 Pound co-host Kamaru Usman, sharing that Chimaev used offensive language towards him and then blocked him on social media. Despite being accompanied by a group of six individuals, Cejudo chose not to escalate the situation physically, emphasizing his focus on competing rather than engaging in drama. He also expressed empathy towards Chimaev’s struggles, noting his past fight cancellations and online harassment.
Chimaev, who recently pulled out of a UFC event in Saudi Arabia due to illness, is preparing to face former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker at UFC 308 on Oct. 26 in Abu Dhabi. Meanwhile, Cejudo currently does not have any upcoming fights scheduled.
