Kickboxing Legend Marat Grigorian To Return Against Rising Star Abdelali Zahidi At ONE Friday Fights 92

A 159-pound catchweight kickboxing battle guaranteed to produce fireworks has been added to the blockbuster ONE Friday Fights 92 spectacle in Asia primetime on Friday, December 20.

One of the most decorated kickboxers of all time, Marat Grigorian, will return against rising star Abdelali “Black Diamond” Zahidi in a three-round slugfest inside the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

A three-time ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Title challenger and the division’s current #2-ranked contender, Grigorian is still on the hunt for 26 pounds of gold in the world’s largest martial arts organization.

The Armenian icon is a former multiple-time Kickboxing World Champion outside of ONE, revered for his ultra-aggressive style and mind-numbing power.

Grigorian has gone 4-2 against some of the best strikers in the world under the ONE banner, with setbacks coming only against reigning featherweight kickboxing king Chingiz Allazov and interim featherweight kickboxing titleholder Superbon.

After coming up short in a five-round brawl against Superbon at ONE Friday Fights 58 for the interim belt this past April, the 33-year-old veteran is itching to bounce back and stay in the World Title picture.

At his best, Grigorian is a handful for anybody in the featherweight kickboxing division, evidenced by his one-round beatdown of Thai superstar Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong at ONE 165 in January.

But in the other corner, Zahidi is looking to collect the biggest feather in his cap by pulling off an upset against one of the most decorated strikers on the planet.

“Black Diamond” earned this opportunity after a stellar promotional debut at ONE Friday Fights 88. The lanky 25-year-old showcased incredible reflexes and lethal finishing prowess by flatlining Myanmar striker Tun Min Aung with a wicked head kick KO.

Facing Grigorian is a massive step up in competition for the Moroccan hotshot, who boasts an impressive 25-4 overall career record.

It could also be a career-defining moment for Zahidi, who would make a massive statement by taking out one of the most decorated competitors in the sport.
