Cris Cyborg is widely regarded as one of the top fighters in the history of women’s MMA. Larissa Pacheco understands that if she defeats her fellow Brazilian compatriot in the co-main event of the PFL’s October 19 pay-per-view in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, some fans and experts may underestimate her achievements.

Pacheco enters the bout on a 10-fight winning streak, which includes PFL championship wins in two different weight divisions and a decision victory over Kayla Harrison in 2022.

Despite expecting critics to downplay her win against Cyborg, Pacheco believes that a triumph over Cyborg would significantly propel her career forward. She is determined to validate herself and is unconcerned about external opinions.

Kayla Harrison, a contender for the UFC bantamweight title, suffered her sole MMA defeat at the hands of Pacheco. Although Pacheco holds a 1-2 record against Harrison in the PFL, she wishes Harrison continued success.

Since departing from the UFC in 2019, Cyborg has secured six consecutive MMA victories and four wins in boxing. Pacheco acknowledges having reservations about the fight materializing due to delays but remained committed to training in anticipation of the bout.

While facing Cyborg wasn’t a longtime aspiration for Pacheco, she recollects a friend predicting seven years ago that they would eventually cross paths in the cage. With the fight now set to take place, Pacheco is prepared for the challenge.

Both fighters possess an aggressive fighting style and are expected to bring a high level of intensity to the matchup. Pacheco envisions a monumental encounter with Cyborg, as both competitors are projected to give their all in the octagon.
