Boxing rivals Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia are set to showcase their training in a media event today. Watch it live at 4pm ET in the video above. Dubbed as “The Dream” and “King Lie”, the two fighters are gearing up for their upcoming 12-round super lightweight title match on Saturday evening (April 20, 2024) at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
“He knows he lacks the skill, IQ, and heart,” Haney stated during a press event earlier this year. “We have seen him give up. Kneeling won’t change that. When things get tough, he will back down. This has become personal now. It’s more than just boxing. We have been rivals since childhood, and it’s time to settle it. If he gets careless, he will pay the price, just like we’ve seen before.”
“The timing couldn’t be better,” Garcia chimed in. “I am eyeing the WBC belt and feel strong at 140 pounds. Everything is on the line. I believe now is the perfect moment. I want to land a game-changing right hand and drop him. That’s my goal. It would be quite a moment to knock him out with a right hand after he called me one-dimensional. That would be something.”
