Liz Carmouche encountered a setback during the official weigh-ins for PFL 7 when she weighed in one pound over the required limit for her flyweight tournament semifinal match against Taila Santos. As a result, Carmouche had to give up an undisclosed portion of her earnings and began the fight at a 1-point disadvantage on the judges’ scorecards. This marks the first instance of Carmouche failing to make weight in her career. The victor of the Carmouche vs. Santos bout will progress to the finals to vie for the tournament championship and a grand prize of $1,000,000. In the other flyweight semifinal clash, Dakota Ditcheva is set to go up against Jena Bishop, both of whom successfully made weight for the co-main event.
