Former WWE star and Hall of Famer Mark Henry kicked off his wrestling journey in the mid-1990s when he was just 24 years old, back in a bustling period for the industry. During a recent appearance on “Six Feet Under,” a podcast hosted by Mark Calaway, known as “The Undertaker,” Henry reminisced about the excessive drinking culture that was prevalent during that time. Despite sharing a few drinks with Calaway on occasions in the past, Henry humorously mentioned that he refrains from drinking because he claims to be “allergic” to alcohol and jokes that he would likely end up in jail if he did.

Henry recounted an incident in Japan where he found himself in a situation with a police officer while intoxicated, with Calaway intervening to avert any potential trouble. Reflecting on this experience and others, Henry made the conscious choice to abstain from alcohol altogether. After dedicating 26 years to WWE and more recently making appearances with AEW, Henry revealed that he is departing from the latter; however, retirement is not yet on the horizon for him.

If you or someone you know is facing challenges with addiction, support and assistance can be found through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration website or by reaching out to SAMHSA’s National Helpline at 1-800-662-HELP (4357).
