Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz will now have more time to get ready for their upcoming boxing rematch. The second chapter of their MMA showdown that took place at UFC 244 was supposed to happen on June 1, 2024. But it’s been pushed back to July 6, 2024. The fight, managed by Fanmio, will also be held at the Honda Center in Anaheim instead of the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California.

Even though Masvidal is still contracted with the UFC, he got the go-ahead to participate in this match. The change in the date was necessary so that it wouldn’t clash with UFC 302, where Islam Makhachev and Dustin Poirier will battle for the Lightweight title. Poirier is a teammate of Masvidal at American Top Team.

This will be Masvidal’s second official boxing match. He won his debut fight against Joseph Benjamin back in 2005. On the other hand, Diaz made his boxing debut in August 2023 and suffered a loss to Jake Paul by unanimous decision.

Diaz, who was Masvidal’s most recent victory in MMA, is determined to turn the tables in this upcoming rematch. Diaz has had a mix of outcomes since leaving the UFC, including a loss to Leon Edwards and a win by submission over Tony Ferguson.

Both fighters now have an extra month to prepare for their much-anticipated rematch, set to take place in July 2024.
