Max Holloway is speaking out against the issue of gun violence and school shootings in the United States. With 49 school shootings resulting in 24 deaths and 65 injuries as of September 13, 2024, there is a pressing need for action to address this concerning trend. Disappointed by the lack of progress in addressing this issue, Holloway is advocating for a non-violent approach to conflict resolution.

In a recent interview with KHON2 News, Holloway stressed the importance of avoiding the use of guns and instead exploring alternatives like boxing or playing video games such as Apex or Call of Duty. His message echoes the sentiments of the late John Witherspoon’s character in the movie Friday, underlining the significance of promoting peaceful ways to resolve conflicts.

Looking forward to UFC 308 scheduled for October 26, Holloway is gearing up to challenge featherweight champion Ilia Topuria in Abu Dhabi. Topuria, boasting a flawless 15-0 record, will defend his title against Holloway, a seasoned fighter renowned for his success in the Octagon. With previous titles as both interim and undisputed featherweight champion, Holloway aims to clinch another championship by defeating Topuria in what is anticipated to be an electrifying match.
