The UFC Denver event on July 13 is going through a major change as Maycee Barber is no longer able to compete against Rose Namajunas due to undisclosed reasons. Tracy Cortez has stepped in to take on Namajunas in a flyweight matchup at the Ball Arena in Denver.
Sources, as shared by Alex Behunin on Twitter, broke the news of Barber’s withdrawal. Though disappointing for Barber, Cortez now has the opportunity to face a former champion a week sooner than anticipated. Meanwhile, Miranda Maverick is still on the card for July 20, and a new opponent is being sought for her.
With an undefeated UFC record of 6-0, Cortez will be looking to maintain her success in the octagon against Namajunas. Namajunas, a former strawweight champion, aims to continue her victory momentum following her recent win over Amanda Ribas in her second flyweight bout.
