Floyd Mayweather Jr. has named Canelo Alvarez, Ryan Garcia, and Gervonta “Tank” Davis as the top three fighters in boxing today, highlighting their status as the biggest stars in the sport.

Devin Haney has been left out of Mayweather’s list due to his reported lackluster PPV performance, indicating that he is not considered a must-watch fighter in North America. Consequently, he did not make Mayweather’s hand-picked list of the biggest names in sports.

The Chosen Ones

In an interview with @Insidefighting, Mayweather listed the following as the top fighters in the sport:

  • Canelo Alvarez: The undisputed super middleweight champion and former four-division world champion, Canelo is a huge star in the US and Mexico, with an estimated net worth of $200 million. He is considered to be one of the biggest stars in the sport.
  • Ryan Garcia: Despite not having won a world title and experiencing recent setbacks, 25-year-old Ryan Garcia has a massive following on social media and is a popular figure in the sport. His potential to be a top PPV seller is acknowledged if he is able to maintain success.
  • Gervonta Davis: Holding the WBA lightweight title, Tank Davis is recognized as the “face of boxing” and has a strong fan base. His fighting style and fan-friendly abilities set him apart in the sport.
