Michael Chandler is hopeful about a potential bout with Conor McGregor.
Chandler has been vying for a fight with McGregor for almost two years but faced setbacks. Their planned match at UFC 303 was called off due to McGregor’s toe injury and has yet to be rescheduled.
However, there are signs of progress as Chandler suggested on Instagram that a fight might be in the works.
“Taking steps to get back in the ring… Believe in yourself, always.
“Keep pushing forward.
“Meet you at the peak!”
Although Chandler doesn’t mention McGregor directly, it’s probable that any upcoming fight for Chandler will involve him. Both UFC CEO Dana White and McGregor have teased fight updates for the Irish star. Nonetheless, it remains uncertain if the fight will take place this year since White has previously ruled out McGregor competing in 2024.
McGregor has been absent from competition for more than three years, with his last fight at UFC 264 where he sustained a leg injury. Chandler’s most recent bout was against Dustin Poirier at UFC 281, which he lost by submission.
