Michael Chandler: Michael Page had a ‘terrible matchup’ against Kevin Holland in his UFC debut

Michael Chandler thinks that Michael Page didn’t have it easy in his UFC debut.

Chandler, who earned a spot on the UFC roster after fighting through his Bellator contract, will soon be joined by fellow former Bellator star Michael Page, who recently signed with the UFC. Page is set to make his debut against Kevin Holland at UFC 299 in Miami this coming March.

Despite the buzz surrounding this matchup, Chandler is not a fan of this fight for Page.

“I think Kevin Holland is a tough opponent for him,” Chandler said. “I think Kevin Holland will probably come out on top. But personally, I like ‘MVP’. I think he’s a cool guy.”

Chandler and Page have followed similar career paths. While Chandler achieved champion status and Page did not, both have been prominent fighters in Bellator for over a decade, garnering significant attention. Additionally, both left Bellator as free agents in their mid-30s and signed with the UFC.

Chandler personally likes Page, but when it comes to fighting, it’s a different story.

“Michael Venom Page, I have mixed feelings about him,” Chandler said. “I don’t like his style. I find it irritating. He moves around like a drunken warrior with his karate style. But he’s delivered some incredible knockouts. He pulls off crazy spinning kicks and back elbows. He has broken people’s faces and finishes in various ways. He’s the kind of guy who’s all over the highlight reels.”
