Michel Pereira has decided not to go through with his fight against Roman Dolidze at UFC Louisville. The reason behind this change is linked to their shared training at Xtreme Couture. Pereira shared on Instagram that although Dolidze was up for the fight, Pereira didn’t feel it was appropriate to compete against a friend and training mate. He expressed worries about having to relocate to a new gym in under a month to prepare for the match.

Pereira, who has been victorious in his last eight UFC fights, mentioned the difficulties of changing gyms suddenly as the main factor in his decision to decline the fight. On the flip side, Dolidze was open to fighting Pereira on a later date after the UFC requested a change to the original fight schedule.

Even though there was an initial disagreement, Dolidze confirmed through Twitter that he would be willing to fight Pereira if the UFC arranged for a new fight date. This situation brings to light the intricacies of fighting against training partners in the UFC and the challenges fighters encounter when trying to balance personal relationships with their professional responsibilities.
