Michin feels more like herself in her current run in the WWE.
After Triple H took over the WWE in 2022, the former Retribution member returned to the WWE. Michin also had a run in NXT earlier this year, which helped her feel more like herself, in a way she never has before in the WWE.
Her impressive performances earned her a call-up to Smackdown, where she has continued to impress in the women’s division.
Michin made it all the way to the final of the United States Women’s Championship tournament. She lost out to eventual winner and first champion Chelsea, but she impressed in the opportunities she was given by Triple H.
Speaking with the Zaslow Show, Michin was asked about how her WWE run this time is different from the past. The Smackdown star said that she can tell that Triple H believes in her and she finally feels more like herself again.
“I can honestly say that I truly feel like Hunter really believes in me. He’s been giving me more and more opportunities—not just to show what I can do in the ring, but also on the mic.”
“Going down to NXT and helping the girls there has been amazing. I feel like me. I don’t have to pretend to be something I’m not.” Michin added, before saying, “I don’t have to play a character. I can just be my silly self, wrestling my little ass off.”
Michin trusted Triple H not to fumble her after her WWE return.
Michin knew she could trust Triple H when she rejoined the WWE.
She spoke with The Metro about her return to the WWE in 2022. Michin revealed that she felt more comfortable with Triple H in charge, compared to her time under Vince McMahon.
She added that the former WWE Champion always did what he said, so she could trust him when he told her his plans for the “Michin” character.
“Hunter, Triple H, in NXT he felt like a protective father figure, ‘It was like, “Oh, well, I know how Hunter has treated us at NXT, and seeing all my friends come back and knowing that he has more control, I feel comfortable and I can fully trust him to not fumble [me].”
“It may take a month, it may take three months, but it always happens how he explains it. So I have never had a reason to doubt his word.”
“I know that if any direction or idea has come about and is presented to me that it could literally start next week, it could start next month, or could start next year, but I know that at least it’s gonna happen.”
