Midnight Madness: $100K for a Party with Bones?

Welcome to Midnight Mania!

UFC Heavyweight champion Jon Jones isn’t struggling for cash. “Bones” has been a UFC star for a long time and has headlined many high-profile events. He can afford to take time off and recruit the best training partners and coaches to prepare for a title fight. Even later in his career, Jones has set himself up for one of the biggest paydays of his career against Tom Aspinall, the current interim Heavyweight champion.

In a recent interview with Alex Gonzalez, Jones disclosed that fighting is far from his only source of income. According to Jones, he earns six-figures simply for attending parties briefly or signing a few items.

“Dana White, my boss, told me a long time ago, ‘Jon, money will never be your issue,’” Jones reflected. “He said, ‘Never worry about money; it will always come to you for the rest of your life.’”

“It seems like the less I think about money, the more it comes to me. It’s just falling into my hands these days, and I’m grateful for it. I make really good money doing really, really silly things. Show up to a party for a half an hour for $100k. Sign a few items for $100k. I barely leave my house for anything less than $100k these days; it just comes from left and right. I’m grateful for it.”

MMA has its share of financial horror stories, so it’s refreshing to hear at least one success story.

It’s been just over a month since Jones returned to action at UFC 309, stopping Stipe Miocic decisively to retain his title. As mentioned, he’s expected to face Aspinall sometime next year, though nothing is yet official. With these lucrative side hustles, it’s clear that Jones has both the time and leverage to negotiate!
