Instead of accepting the challenge from Benavidez, Alvarez has chosen to defend his super middleweight titles against Edgar Berlanga in an upcoming match scheduled for this Saturday.
Berlanga, who has yet to taste defeat in his boxing career and has achieved 17 knockout victories, presents a formidable opponent for Alvarez. In contrast, Alvarez boasts a remarkable record of 61 wins, 2 losses, and 2 draws, with 39 of his victories coming by way of knockout or technical knockout (TKO).
