Molly McCann is getting ready for her second UFC fight in a lower weight class as she aims to climb back up the ranks for a shot at the championship. She is scheduled to face Bruna Brasil at UFC 304 in Manchester, England next Saturday, following a successful debut in the division where she secured a first-round armbar victory over Diana Belbita. McCann is well aware of the threat Brasil poses, especially after witnessing her teammate Shauna Bannon’s defeat against her last year.

Despite being seen as the favorite, McCann is not underestimating the challenge and has been working hard to prepare for a tough opponent. Her main objective is to reach the top of the rankings and eventually vie for the title. McCann understands the importance of continuously improving her fighting style and skills to be competitive in the division. Her recent grappling achievements have played a significant role in boosting her confidence inside the octagon.

Now competing in the 115-pound weight class, McCann has her eyes set on facing the Chinese champion Zhang Weili. Nonetheless, she acknowledges the competitive field in the strawweight division, with numerous talented fighters yet to break into the top 15 rankings. McCann values the respectful atmosphere within the division and is concentrated on enhancing her fighting knowledge to compete at the highest echelon.

At 34 years old and halfway through her UFC contract, McCann is realistic about the latter part of her career but is unwavering in her pursuit of championship glory. With four fights left on her current contract, McCann is hoping to make a title run before potentially retiring to start a family. UFC 304 is slated to take place on July 27 at Co-op Live in Manchester.
