Montez Ford recently expressed his interest in stepping into the octagon in an interview with ComicBook.

Since Endeavor acquired WWE in April 2023 and subsequently merged with UFC to create TKO, both sports entities have maintained their separate identities. While there have been some crossover opportunities, like Michael Chandler calling out Conor McGregor on WWE Monday Night Raw and Logan Paul appearing at UFC 295, there have been few instances of talent moving between the organizations.

Notable figures such as Ronda Rousey, Cain Velasquez, and Brock Lesnar have transitioned between UFC and WWE. Despite the limited opportunities, the interest in crossover remains strong.

Montez Ford from the Street Profits is keen on showcasing his unique style in the octagon.

During a conversation with ComicBook, Ford revealed his interest in MMA, citing his military background and martial arts experience as motivations for wanting to compete in mixed martial arts.

“Not many people know this, but I was in the military and almost achieved a black belt. I have hand-to-hand combat experience along with life experience,” Ford shared.

Ford has consulted with fellow WWE superstar Bobby Lashley, who has a successful MMA career with a 15-2-0 record, about his MMA aspirations.

“Bobby believes I would excel in MMA given my training regimen and drive. He knows I have what it takes and should succeed with the right support. I’m confident in my abilities and am prepared for any challenge,” Ford stated.

Conversations about MMA ambitions have also involved WWE President Nick Khan, who is open to exploring crossover opportunities between WWE and UFC.

“I told Nick Khan that if there’s a chance for another crossover event and someone to step into the octagon, I’m ready,” Ford shared.

When asked about his preferred UFC weight class, Ford expressed his willingness to compete in any division.

“I’m confident in my skills regardless of the weight class. I’m open to any challenge and would love to represent WWE in a crossover event with UFC. I’m eager to be that connection between both sides,” Ford affirmed.
