UFC bantamweight Myles Johns will be suspended until February following a ruling from the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

As per the decision made at the NAC’s meeting in Las Vegas on Tuesday, Johns received a four and a half month suspension from the date of his most recent fight and was fined $2,300, equivalent to 10 percent of his earnings from the September bout against Dan Argueta. His suspension and fine were approved at the meeting, and he will be eligible to return on February 6th.

Johns tested positive for the anabolic steroid M3 metabolite DHMCT (dehydrochloromethyltestosterone) in September, leading to his suspension in November. He addressed the situation on social media, stating that he had three negative tests for metabolites and one low-level positive test, suggesting the supplement may have been contaminated.

Furthermore, recent changes to DHMCT’s admissibility threshold by the commission also played a role in his case.

Johns (14-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC) secured a unanimous decision victory against Argueta at UFC Fight Night 228 on September 23 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. This win marked his second consecutive victory after a 10-month hiatus and his fourth win in five fights.

It is worth noting that Johns had previously violated NAC regulations in April 2022 by testing positive for Adderall. This incident resulted in a six-month suspension and a fine, though it was not discussed at Tuesday’s meeting.
