UFC Saudi Arabia is just over a month away.
On Feb. 1, the latest UFC card in Saudi Arabia will take place at the ANB Arena, headlined by a middleweight matchup between former two-time champion Israel Adesanya and rising contender Nassourdine Imavov. This event marks the UFC’s second outing in The Kingdom, and with just five weeks until fight night, the promotion has released the official fight poster. The poster features both main event fighters as well as the co-main event matchup between Shara “Bullet” Magomedov and Michael “Venom” Page.
A former two-time champion, Adesanya is widely regarded as one of the greatest middleweights of all time. However, “The Last Stylebender” is currently experiencing the worst streak of his career. After losing the title to Sean Strickland at UFC 293, Adesanya fell short in his attempt to reclaim the belt against Dricus du Plessis, suffering a submission defeat at UFC 305 in August—his first submission loss.
Still just 29 years old, Imavov has been a consistent presence in the middleweight top-15 for the past few years. However, 2024 saw the French fighter finally make the leap to true contender status after securing three significant wins. Imavov first won a majority decision against Roman Dolidze in February. He then stopped Jared Cannonier in June, and most recently, he took a unanimous decision over the surging Brendan Allen, placing himself on the cusp of a title shot.
