Francis Ngannou, a well-known name in mixed martial arts (MMA), is gearing up for his return to the sport after a hiatus of over two years. His comeback is set to take place in 2024, where he will step into the Professional Fighters League (PFL) for the first time, marking a new chapter in his fighting career. During Ngannou’s absence, Renan Ferreira, a standout performer in the PFL, claimed victory in the division’s seasonal tournament by defeating Ryan Bader in a lightning-fast 21 seconds. Ngannou has his sights set on a showdown with Ferreira for his highly-anticipated debut, with the bout tentatively penciled in for October 19.

Despite his background in boxing, Ngannou is firm in his decision to focus on MMA in his upcoming fights. The 37-year-old intends to return to the octagon after his foray into the PFL. Ngannou remains optimistic about the years of competition ahead of him before contemplating retirement from the world of combat sports. He aspires to exit the sport on his own terms, contemplating the idea of hanging up his gloves around the age of 41 if his passion and enthusiasm for fighting remain strong.
