Israel Adesanya might no longer hold the UFC middleweight title, but fans in Nigeria continue to show him unwavering support. Following his loss to Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 305, Adesanya returned to Nigeria to a warm reception from his admirers.

Videos and social media posts captured moments of Adesanya’s interactions with fans at a grocery store in Lagos, where he was surrounded by well-wishers, and at a church service where he and his family participated in singing. The enthusiasm and positive energy surrounding Adesanya in his home country were undeniable.

While in Nigeria, Adesanya also met up with fellow UFC fighter Sodiq Yusuff to attend a local boxing event, where he praised the young talent on display and received cheers from the crowd.

Taking to social media, Adesanya expressed his gratitude, saying, “Energy never dies, it can be passed on and amplified. Bless the future, bless my people, their flame inspired me!”

In response to comments from his former opponent Alex Pereira regarding his fight with Du Plessis, Adesanya was surprised by Pereira’s knowledge of his fighting style.

Looking ahead, Adesanya has confirmed that he intends to continue fighting and has no immediate plans to retire. With the steadfast support of his fans in his hometown, it’s likely that news of his next fight will surface sooner rather than later.
