Martial arts journalist Nina-Marie Daniele, also known as Nina Drama, has addressed the criticism she received after Tom Aspinall asked inappropriate questions during a recent interview.
Daniele was interviewing Aspinall ahead of his interim heavyweight title shot against Sergei Pavlovic at UFC 295. During their conversation, Aspinall asked Danielle, “Have you ever been to a game before?” which led to an awkward response from Danielle before she clarified the situation.
Since the video of the interview surfaced, Aspinall has faced backlash for his line of questioning, with many accusing him of sexual harassment. However, Daniele took to social media to explain that she was not offended by Aspinall’s questions.
“I love Tom Aspinall’s humor! The reason he asked me such crazy questions is because we follow each other on IG and all the crazy weird questions my followers ask me. Because I’m watching,” she wrote. “@AspinallMMA is funny AF and he didn’t piss me off at all! He was trying to get a reaction out of me and I got a good one lol. I gave him some crazy shots too I asked you a question!”
Aspinall recently claimed the UFC world title and became the third British-born fighter to do so. He secured victory in just 69 seconds against Pavlovic and is set to face either Jon Bones Jones or Stipe Miocic in the future.
