The official fight poster for UFC 307 has been revealed, setting the stage for an action-packed event. Scheduled for October 5 at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, the main event will feature Alex Pereira defending his light heavyweight title against Khalil Rountree Jr. In the co-main event, Raquel Pennington will defend her bantamweight belt against former champion Julianna Peña.
Pereira, who is considered a top contender for the 2024 Fighter of the Year title, has successfully defended his title against previous champions Jamahal Hill and Jiri Prochazka. Rountree is currently riding a five-fight winning streak but has been out of action since last December due to a suspension for a failed drug test.
On the other hand, Pennington clinched the vacant women’s bantamweight title by defeating Mayra Bueno Silva in January at UFC 297 and is gearing up for her first title defense. Peña made headlines by upsetting Amanda Nunes at UFC 269 to claim the title, only to lose it to Nunes in their subsequent rematch.
UFC 307 will not only showcase these thrilling title fights but also feature other exciting matchups including a bantamweight clash between Jose Aldo and Mario Bautista, a featherweight showdown between Movsar Evloev and Aljamain Sterling, a women’s bantamweight battle between Kayla Harrison and Ketlen Vieira, and a welterweight bout between Stephen Thompson and Joaquin Buckley, among other bouts.
