Tracy Cortez is getting ready for a significant fight at UFC Denver this weekend. The original main event was supposed to be a Flyweight contender bout between Rose Namajunas and Maycee Barber, but Barber had to withdraw due to an injury. Cortez stepped in to take her place, rescheduling her fight with Miranda Maverick for the following weekend.

The current titleholder of the division is Alexa Grasso, but there are talks that Valentina Shevchenko might not be able to make it to the planned event in September. Cortez hopes to shine in her bout against Namajunas and potentially earn a shot at the title.

Cortez, who has never been defeated in her 12-fight career, is eager to face Namajunas, who will be competing in her third match at 125 pounds. Cortez views this as a valuable test for both fighters and is thrilled for the opportunity.

MMAmania.com will offer live coverage of the entire UFC Denver fight card, commencing with the preliminaries at 7 p.m. ET and followed by the main card at 10 p.m. ET. For the most recent news and updates on UFC Denver: “Namajunas vs. Cortez,” visit our event archive.
