The purse bid for Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis’ mandatory IBF welterweight title defense against Karen Chukhadzhian has been won by P2M-Box Promotion with a bid of $2,000,053.10. Matchroom Boxing bid $1,566,666 for the rematch. Ennis is set to earn $1,300,034.52 with a split of 65-35. Due to the lack of interest in the mandatory fight, Ennis may choose to vacate the IBF title and move up to the junior middleweight division.

Chukhadzhian earned the mandatory challenger spot by defeating Harry Scarff. Negotiations between Ennis and Chukhadzhian fell through, leading to the purse bid. Ennis successfully defended his title against David Avanesyan, and his future plans are yet to be determined. If Ennis decides to vacate, Chukhadzhian will square off against the next highest ranked contender.
