UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira is gearing up to face former titleholder Jiri Prochazka in a highly anticipated rematch at UFC 303 on June 29 in Las Vegas. The 36-year-old Pereira is stepping into the Octagon on short notice to replace Conor McGregor, who had to withdraw due to a broken toe. Pereira anticipates minimal changes in Prochazka’s fighting style since their last encounter in 2023 but is focusing on enhancing his takedown defense before the scheduled bout.

In their most recent fights, Pereira successfully defended his championship with a knockout victory against Jamahal Hill at UFC 300, while Prochazka secured a second-round TKO against Aleksandar Rakic. Pereira views the upcoming rematch as an exciting opportunity and is eagerly looking forward to the challenge.

Aside from the headline fight between Pereira and Prochazka, the UFC 303 card will showcase a co-main event featuring Featherweight contenders Brian Ortega and Diego Lopes, along with matches involving Anthony Smith versus Roman Dolidze, and Ian Garry against Michael “Venom” Page. The event is set to commence at 6 p.m. ET for the Prelims and 10 p.m. ET for the PPV main card.
