CM Punk, who is currently sidelined with a tricep injury, has been making his presence felt on WWE programming by interfering in Drew McIntyre’s matches and causing him championship opportunities. As WWE gears up for SummerSlam, the big question looms over whether Punk will be able to participate in the event given his ongoing injury concerns.

Recent reports from “PWInsider” indicate that CM Punk has been spotted at the WWE Performance Center, where he has been seen training in the ring in hopes of getting medical clearance from WWE’s doctors. Punk had previously expressed his desire to be cleared by his personal physicians in Chicago, and this latest development sheds light on his efforts to return to in-ring action. Prior to this update, Punk had only made sporadic appearances on “WWE Raw” and at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view.

The injury that currently sidelines Punk occurred during his comeback match on WWE TV after a decade-long absence. Wrestling in the men’s Royal Rumble match, Punk tore his tricep towards the end of the bout. His return to WWE followed stints in UFC and a controversial run in AEW, where he engaged in altercations with fellow wrestlers that led to his dismissal after an incident with AEW president Tony Khan at AEW All In in August last year. Punk’s departure from AEW eventually paved the way for his comeback to WWE at Survivor Series.
