Quemuel Ottoni recently explained the rationale behind his abrupt withdrawal from his scheduled bout against Kody Steele at Dana White’s Contender Series in Las Vegas. Ottoni decided to pull out of the co-headline match just moments before it was set to begin due to personal issues. Dana White, the CEO of the UFC, mentioned that fighters sometimes realize the immense pressure of competition is overwhelming, even before they enter the ring. Consequently, Steele will be given another opportunity in a future DWCS event. Ottoni candidly shared his experiences with anxiety and the difficulties he faced in the lead-up to the fight, emphasizing that a combination of factors influenced his choice not to compete. Despite boasting a professional record of 12-3, Ottoni has had four consecutive fights cancelled and has not fought since May 2022.
