Rikishi has expressed concerns about the direction of his son Jey Uso’s career in WWE. He believes that Jey, also known as “Yeet Man,” should be given a chance at a singles title, such as the Intercontinental Championship or the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. However, Rikishi feels that Jey’s current storylines do not align well with his character or popularity level. As a result, he believes that taking a break from the wrestling scene might be the best course of action for him.

Speaking on the “Off The Top” podcast, Rikishi shared his thoughts, saying, “When the Money in the Bank situation with Drew McIntyre went down, I hoped Jey would get an opportunity for a title, maybe the Intercontinental Championship. In my opinion, he deserves a shot at the world championship.”

“However, when that didn’t happen, I reached a point where I felt like calling my son and telling him to take a break because it seems like the creative team doesn’t know where he fits or how to develop a storyline that suits Jey Uso’s character, the Yeet Man,” Rikishi added.

Following his loss at WWE Money in the Bank, Jey has been involved in storylines with Rhea Ripley and Sami Zayn. He has also confirmed his participation in the Intercontinental Championship contenders tournament. Winning this tournament would not only lead to a title match against Bron Breakker but also fulfill a part of his father’s wishes for his career.
