Ronda Rousey has not attended UFC events since her quick defeat by Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 in December 2016. This loss came after her first career defeat by Holly Holm at UFC 193 in November 2015, which made her shy away from the media and stay out of the spotlight for a while. Despite the announcement of her challenge to Nunes a year later, Rousey felt like she was not respected by the media, ultimately leading to her decision to distance herself from the UFC.

Having made her mark in MMA history, Rousey was honored with an induction into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2018. After her time in MMA, she transitioned to professional wrestling in WWE, but has since left the organization and hinted that a return may not be on the cards. Even in WWE, Rousey faced backlash from fans and the community, reminiscent of her experiences in MMA. She expressed disappointment in feeling like her hard work went unnoticed by those on the periphery.

Although Rousey’s impact on MMA history is undeniable, she has opted to steer clear of the sport due to the negative reception from the media and fans.
