Ryan Garcia was taken into custody by Beverly Hills police for felony vandalism at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Beverly Hills last Saturday. The news first surfaced on TMZ, which shared a video showing the boxer being escorted by police. Garcia’s lawyer, as quoted by TMZ, mentioned that the fighter known as King Ry was taken to a local hospital by the BHPD for an evaluation and treatment and could potentially face charges of public intoxication. Law enforcement officials stated that the boxer was apprehended and brought into custody for allegedly causing damage to property at the hotel, including his room and the hallway.

This arrest followed a recent wellness check by the police at the same hotel. Concerns have been raised about Garcia’s behavior for some time now, with his public statements moving from positive to negative. He previously mentioned consuming alcohol before his victory over Devin Haney in April, only to later test positive for a prohibited substance in his system (despite denying intentional ingestion of the substance).
