Sean O’Malley, the UFC bantamweight champion, is interested in a potential fight with Conor McGregor, which could be groundbreaking for UFC.

O’Malley mentioned on Bradley Martyn’s “Raw Talk” podcast that he is willing to move from 135 pounds to 155 pounds to make a fight with McGregor happen.

“He’s gotten bigger,” O’Malley pointed out in reference to McGregor’s current size.

McGregor, a former two-division champion, is preparing to make his comeback at UFC 303 after a three-year break to fight Michael Chandler in a 165-pound catchweight bout.

Although O’Malley typically stays within his weight class, he is open to stepping up for McGregor, stating, “Conor’s one of the only guys I would fight that I’m like, ‘That guy’s big.’ I would just fight him at 155.”

O’Malley has developed a deep respect for McGregor over the years and sees this potential fight as a lucrative opportunity and a chance to compete with his idol turned rival.

Regarding McGregor’s recent remarks about him, O’Malley said, “There’s no other reason for him to talk negatively about me. I’ve always praised him. I’ve looked up to him, so I want to try to dislike him, but it’s difficult.”

While a match between O’Malley and McGregor may not happen immediately, as McGregor is facing Chandler in June and O’Malley is expected to defend his bantamweight title against Merab Dvalishvili, the idea of this matchup continues to captivate fans and fellow fighters alike.
