Sean O’Malley’s coach, Tim Welch, holds his ground amid criticism from Merab Dvalishvili and Aljamain Sterling.

The upcoming bantamweight title defense bout between O’Malley and Dvalishvili at UFC 306 on September 14 has intensified the rivalry between O’Malley and the Serra-Longo fight camp. O’Malley clinched the title by defeating Sterling, Dvalishvili’s teammate. Tensions have risen between the competing camps, with a recent confrontation at a media event where Dvalishvili confronted Welch.

In a recent interview with Submission Radio, Welch addressed the situation, asserting that he will not be phased by Dvalishvili’s threats. He stressed the significance of the forthcoming fight and the challenge presented by Dvalishvili.

Sterling also voiced his disagreement with Welch’s statements on The MMA Hour, hinting at potential repercussions. Welch believes that Sterling and his camp still harbor resentment over O’Malley’s triumph.

As UFC 306 draws near, Welch remains concentrated on the fight and urges Dvalishvili to do the same. Nevertheless, he is prepared to hold his position if faced with opposition from the rival team. The UFC 306 event is scheduled to take place at the Sphere in Las Vegas.
