Former middleweight champion Sean Strickland is preparing for a rematch with Dricus du Plessis after du Plessis’s victory at UFC 305. Strickland, currently ranked number one, recently defeated Paulo Costa at UFC 302, redeeming himself from a previous loss to du Plessis in January at UFC 297.

In a highly anticipated fight at UFC 305, du Plessis managed to defeat Israel Adesanya and successfully defend his middleweight title with a rear-naked choke. Despite talks of a potential matchup with Robert Whittaker, du Plessis has attracted the interest of various fighters, including Strickland.

Strickland issued a challenge to du Plessis through his official social media account, declaring, “Let’s go to battle Dutchman,” following du Plessis’s win over Adesanya. While Strickland sets his sights on a rematch, light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira has also shown eagerness to fight du Plessis for the title at 185 lbs.
