Shakur Stevenson believes that Tyson Fury has the edge to win his upcoming rematch against Oleksandr Usyk. Despite giving Fury a slight advantage, Stevenson isn’t dismissing Usyk’s capabilities entirely. As a pound-for-pound star and a three-weight world champion, Stevenson’s insights carry significant weight in the boxing community.

The anticipated rematch between Usyk and Fury is set to occur in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Their initial bout, held in May, extended over the full twelve rounds and concluded with Usyk securing a split decision victory. During the fight, Usyk demonstrated a strong start and nearly incapacitated Fury in the ninth round, ultimately sealing his status as the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis.

As the fighters arrive in Riyadh for the rematch, Fury is determined to prevent the judges from making the final call by aiming for a decisive stop against Usyk. This approach has proven successful for Fury in prior rematches, fueling his drive to dominate in this upcoming confrontation.

Usyk’s transition to the heavyweight division followed his undisputed success at cruiserweight, and he remains undefeated. This makes it particularly challenging to bet against him, even for seasoned sports analysts and enthusiasts.

Shakur Stevenson expressed his perspective on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “I like Fury for the second fight … Usyk [is] so great though bro, it’s so hard going against him over the course of a 12 round fight. I’m like 55-45 Fury on this one. All Fury gotta do is come in shape and stay focused for the entire fight!”

Fury is not only focusing on the imminent rematch but also plans to face Usyk a total of three times. His ultimate goal is to establish himself as the preeminent heavyweight of his generation.
