Aljamain Sterling, a former bantamweight champion, has decided to withdraw from his upcoming featherweight fight against Movsar Evloev, who is ranked No. 6, at UFC 307. The fight was scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 5, 2024. Sterling sustained an injury during his training camp, which made him unable to compete. The UFC medical team advised him not to go ahead with the fight. This setback follows Sterling’s loss of the 135-pound title to Sean O’Malley at UFC 292 in the summer of 2023. He had a successful featherweight debut with a victory over Calvin Kattar at UFC 300.

Movsar Evloev, who holds a flawless 18-0 record, most recently secured a unanimous decision victory over Arnold Allen at UFC 297. Despite his unbeaten streak, all of Evloev’s eight UFC wins have been by decision. He was also recognized for his performance with the “Fight of the Night” award at UFC 288 in Newark. Sterling expressed his disappointment at having to pull out of the fight and extended his apologies to Evloev and his team.
